Is a cruise for me?
Published Thursday, November 8th 2018 - Updated Thursday, November 8th 2018I have people tell me that cruising is not for them. When I ask what cruise they were on previously, they will tell me that they actually never cruised. Well, If you haven't cruise, are you sure that this is not your vacation?
When you are planning a vacation, tell your agent - What makes me happy? Are you happy sitting on a beach watching/listening to the waves? Playing Putt Putt Golf? Zip lining across the ship? Meeting new people? Trying new foods? Getting a sun tan? Or playing games out at the pool?
Each cruise line is different and you will have a different experience on each line. But just like enjoying different restaurants, each ship will give you a different feel as well. If you are a person that enjoys the 'small' ship vacation, Do not go on a 'mega class' ship. Wait, what did I say? A mega class ship can be a ship that is anywhere from 150,000 tons all the way up to 300,000 tons! On that note, if you are a person that is looking for a lot of different activities, the mega ship may be great for your vacation.
Remember, no matter what, this is your vacation. I am here to help you find a vacation that you will enjoy, but what I want to do, may not be the same thing that you would like to do. What makes me a happy cruiser? I love getting up in the morning and going to the dinning room for my made to order breakfast. (yep the dinning room) While on vacation, I'm sure that my breakfast will consist of Eggs Benedict! YUMM! After my leisurely breakfast, I will head up to the adult pool and get my seats. My pool time will consist of movement from the lounger, to the hot tub, to the pool. I do enjoy the spectacle of the pool games!
At lunch, I may go to the buffet, but I will probably be at a restaurant. After lunch, to the pool! Around 3 - 4, I will make my way to my cabin and get showered and ready for the evening activities. Dinner, the show, and probably the casino will consist of my evening.
Of course during this time I will need to make time for activities on board. Putt Putt golf, water slides, rope course, maybe a event or 2. Did you say Bingo? Ok, I may go to a game. Sometimes I get to the end of the week and remember that I never had the chance to do the painting class I wanted to join. Learn to line dance. Or one of the other activates that prior to starting my week, I thought I would have to do!
You can find all types of trouble to get into on the ship! (just ask me, I have been on 16 cruises so fare with 17 and 18 booked!)
